ZUKAANG WEEK PART 2 XD Prompts and date!!!!


Ok, so...seeing as it'salready march next week, I suppose I should announce this NOW.

Is everybody ok with this?

ZUKAANG WEEK 2010 WILL HAPPEN ON MARCH 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27.

With the following prompts:

DAY 1- Motive

DAY 2 - Storms

DAY 3- Duty

DAY 4- Secret admirer

DAY 5- Warmth

DAY 6- Scars

DAY 7- Liquor

Is that good with everyone? yes? good XD lol kiddin, we can move the date ifanyone has a problem with it but as for the prompts, I think we're all good. Let's challenge ourselves with the creativity shall we?

So, first ever Zukaang week, march 21-27.

Just so you know, I considered putting dancing and dragons in there but I felt that those themes had already been used sooooo many times that maybe we shouldn't use it XP.

... because you used two of my ideas (Day 1 and 3, yay! I'm particulary happy you chose those ones because I had some ideas myself and it seems to fit them in terms of both potential humour or angst) Hah. Funny thing though, I kind of already have an idea for the SECOND day...

I'll probably end up doing some of these early on though (as a multichapter fanfic).

I also have a twisted version of day 4 too, even if the idea seems obvious at first though I might not write it that way. Hah... better start writing before the ideas all disappear. They'll be short anyway.

(While my poor Monsters.Inc. fic suffers from the fact I have too many ideas and can't decide on what to do next).

Maybe if I can get Book 3 on DVD I could even do a very short MV or something too for one of them. Maybe. But I'd probably stick with fanfic oneshots because I've only had one try at an MV (a Monsters Inc one) and it takes a long time.

A part of me can't believe it took this friggin' long for a zukaang week to show up... I mean come on... Zukaang is basically as canon as a fanon pairing is going to GET. Plus, there's a little zukaanger in all of us if you like Avatar at ALL- I mean you have to like their friendship at least because that was well... pretty much what the show was about- these two boys and their glorious yin and yangness.

(In my own little world anyway every avatard out there secretly ships platonic zukaang at the very least).

I've advertised on Kataang forever forum (yes, we have a few zukaangers there to- you'd be surprised), also posted on livejournal 'zukogetslaid'.

But yeah, people should post there too really.

If I wasn't so utterly made of fail on livejournal and computer and graphics things in general (seriously, I don't even know how you do the cut post link thing to stop the post becoming so long), I'd start it myself.

I'd call it 'aangislove', because that's what Aang IS. Love in its entirety. He is designed to love and be loved in return.

I have a special place in my heart for almost all Aang ships, Zukaang and Kataang are just at the top of it. Because Kataang was adorable and Zukaang... oh come on, how can you NOT ship it? The show basically commands you to! I mean, the world can only be saved if they become BFFs. Aang is adorable and is love. And Zuko desperately needs love for so long on the show.

It is my personal opinion that Zuko needs hugs. Aang hugs.

I've already pretty much got days 1 and 4 (decided on something cute rather than twisted in the latter but hey) planned out. Just have to write them.

Which I will do so... right away.

I feel exactly the same way. Kataang and Zukaang (and Mai/Zuko) are pretty much my favorite pairings in this fandom. I don't 'ship Zutara, though, but I wonder what crackola Mai/Aang would bring? I kind of want to dare a friend of mine to write it. X3

LOL, BACK ON TOPIC. I haven't written Zukaang in awhile (I'm pretty much immersed in the Suikoden fandom) but I should, because this pairing needs more love. Like whoa.

... I actually ship Mai/Aang too when I see all the (sob) zutara pairing fics on ff.net I just think of how an older Aang/Mai have moved on from those two losers and are having many awesome airbending NINJA BABIES WHO KICK THE LAME ZUTARA SPAWNS ASS IN TERMS OF BEING EPIC...

(AHEM).

Also Taang. Yeah. I like Taang. Shut up. XD


I once wrote a fic where Zutara happened and Aang becmae (just friends mind you, but kick ass BFFs) with Mai, and Toph too and TyLee to a lesser extent and the zutara marriage while NOT abusive or anything daft was just... loveless and completely devoid of passion and as a result of an oops!baby Katara was constantly angsting over how much she missed Aang all those years (fic took place 10 years after the war), and oh Aang had a duaghter (... the mother was going to be JIN) and Mai had an illegitimate daughter who no-one knew who the daughter was but she was a kick ass single lady involved in politics (education). Had to stop though- the angsting got too depressing for me to go on and it was turning into a SOAP OPERA which was kind of embarrassing... I can't do constant angst in multichapter fanfics. I can do it for ONESHOTS mind you... but in multichapters I need humour, and it was too difficult to write in it, so it's more or less abandoned now. I'm slightly ashamed of it actually. Sort of. Just a bit. But I'll keep it there anyway in remberance.

(Plus, purely by accident it seemed like Zuko was angsting for Aang... even when I don't MEAN TO, I end up writing Zukaang subtext. It's a curse.)

I second this motion. At some point I think EVERYONE wanted a piece of the Avatar. XD Katara, Zuko, Meng, On Ji...Teo seemed fond of him, Sokka's shown getting touchy-feely with him, Toph has a special pet name for him, I bet if they interacted more Ty Lee would think he was the cutest threat to the Fire Nation ever, etc, etc.
